Happy Independence Day, Thanks for the Cash!

Happy Fourth of July! Less than two weeks until the star will be seen in the west and shepards and wisemen will chat once again, seeing signs and portents everywhere. But never mind that for right now. I’ve been updating all my tax stuff for the coming year. There are going to be so many changes and I sure as hell don’t want to have to pay extra…..

Think about this for a couple of seconds, two days ago was the first of July. Recent studies have been done that show the average American, us, pays around 50% of our income in the form of various taxes each year to the Government. If you count income tax, sales tax, gas tax, property tax, etc, et al, half our income goes to those crazy kids in Washington or Topeka or wherever your state capital might be. This happens while 1/6th of all Americans have no healthcare and where social security is not a certain thing. We are losing the war on terror and a third of our youth can’t graduate high school.

Fred Phelps in Newton

Fred Phelps himself is going to be in Newton from 3:30 to 4 on Friday May 11th at Shalom Mennonite Church 800 E. 1st Street. That's begging for some alliance to show up.

What is he preaching this time? He's preaching how God smashed greensburg, ks, because it was an evil place. So more of the same stupidity, but this time cloose enough for road trip.

Two A.M. on a Wednesday Morning

I came home tonight and turned on the stereo and started cleaning. All of the sudden I stop to unload the dish washer and realize it is two A.M. I promised myself I would get a little sleep tonight before the Gym tomorrow but I got lost in thought and where went the time? Right down the drain.

I can't stop thinking about our local State Representative who pushed hard to get the 'Real ID' act passed. The Real ID Act requires all US Citizens to get national ID cards, issued by the state they live in, starting in May 2008.

These cards will be needed to accomplish the most basic tasks in our daily lives. It will be an ID card, we will need it to get on an airplane, open a bank account, collect Social Security, or take part of any government program. The ID cards are required to be machine readable. At this time the Feds are even thinking about putting an RFID chip in them, giving the govenment it's own wireless connection to you.

So silly it has to be true........

Happy 28th Birthday Iran! On April 1st, just a few days ago, you celebrated the 28th anniversary of throwing off the shackles of the Shah and becoming the thriving theocracy you enjoy today. Congrats. Your sixty nine million subjects must have celebrated like there was no tomorrow. How are those Brits you caught doing? Have they confessed to Joyriding or whatever you are charging them with yet? It’s funny, I keep expecting to see them on Judge Judy Al Jazeera Style but the recording must have been erased by reruns of Scrubs.

I have to say though buddy, I’m a little concerned. You see I’m not a huge fan of our leader here in the good old U.S. of A. but he’s an interesting fellow, a lot like you. He’s been harassed lately but he speaks with authority. One might say that he is the best type of dominant male in the world at this time.

When Bad Break Ups Attack

This subject has been on my mind lately and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who has had just a completely horrible break up. I'll give you an example:

I was dating this girl several years ago and we were taking a 'break' from each other. She went camping with a friend; I went to a party with her sister. She gets back from camping, calls me up sweet as can be and asks me to come over. I get there, knock on the door, she opens it and promptly starts throwing full garbage bags at me.

Second U.S. carrier arrives off coast of Iran. You know, for no reason.

A second US aircraft carrier arrived in Middle Eastern Waters today as the crisis with Iran over its nuclear programs escalates. The USS John Stennis, the most phallic of our nations carriers, and its strike group joined the USS Dwight D Eisenhower in the sea of Oman but has not yet entered Gulf Waters.

This fulfills the Presidents promise that was made on January 10th when he stated he would deploy a second carrier and Patriot Missile defense system “to reassure our friends and allies.”

This comes at a time when our government is accusing Tehran of actively assisting the insurgency in Iraq and seeking the technology to create a nuclear bomb.

I’m not mad at either one of them…I’ll be honest, I’ve made my own but they’re not nearly as exciting as these. And, while I’m being completely honest with you, I’ve had the rare opportunity of getting a sneak peak of this video and I really enjoyed Kim’s latest venture into the socialite sex tape scandal much more than the foray her trust fund, scandal creating friend Paris Hilton.
